Summary of the Global Shipping Program

eBay introduced the Global Shipping Program to allow sellers to send products to international buyers as easily as to buyers in the United States. As a member, your eligible listings will be automatically available to shoppers across the global (eBay identifies where you can legally sell items).

The program also gives sellers the option to customize where they sell to target buyers in specific countries. By using this infographic, for instance, you can gain a better idea of what types of items are the most popular in each country.

The program handles all the details of the international shipping process for you. After your send your order to the Global Shipping Center in Kentucky, eBay prepares custom forms, pays import fees, and sets up end-to-end tracking.

Benefits of the Program

  1. Sellers who had never sold internationally before saw up to a 15-percent increase in sales after joining the Global Shipping Program. The reason? They had access to more than 70 million additional buyers. A greater audience can be particularly useful for rare items, collectibles, and other products that attract a very specific target audience.
  2. As eBay handles the entire shipping process, you are protected from neutral or negative feedback in the case an item is lost or damaged. This further increases your chances of a 5-star rating. In turn, this can improve your overall seller rating, leading to a greater number of domestic and international sales.
  3. Best of all, the program is free to join and you only pay shipping costs to the global shipping center.

eBay intends to continue adding countries to its Global Shipping Program. To stay up to date with any changes, check out eBay’s announcements page.
